Regarding California

With a Heavy Heart but Hoping Against Hope

Dear Friend,

Our beautiful state of California is bankrupt, fiscally and spiritually

We both reside in California, the most beautiful state in the Union, but one that, sadly, is also bankrupt, fiscally and spiritually. We have two U.S. senators and a Speaker of the House that embody the most ungodly streams. Our State legislature is a web of selfish and worldly interests, and our Governor has no moral ballast. The latter is doubly sad because three years ago he regularly shared prayer requests with the person that led him to pray the sinner’s prayer. He was doing well…until he turned away from God and forfeited his spiritual destiny as Governor.

Many churches are struggling and the few that appear to be doing relatively well seem to focus their energy and resources primarily on themselves since there are so many needs and dangers all around. As a result, there is no moral voice capable of commanding the attention of the state. We are adrift.

As California goes, so goes our nation.

The way California goes, so goes our nation. And this is why I am writing today with an unusually heavy heart to sound a spiritual clarion call to approach the throne of God NOW in the spirit of 2 Chronicles 7:14.

If ever there was a time for us, His people, to humble ourselves, turn from our wicked ways and seek His face, it is NOW. In fact, as optimistic as I normally am, I am afraid we may forfeit our spiritual destiny if we do not act RIGHT AWAY. And it would be so easy for us not to since we are constantly bombarded with gloomy forecasts and doomsday news. Like Gideon, we easily find ourselves focused on our own survival, doubting the very miracles promised in 2 Chronicles 7:14 that are the only way to turn the situation around. We are talking about our state, our families, our future.

We must do something. We must call God’s people to prayer.

The temptation to keep on drifting is very real. I must confess I am no stranger to it myself, but we must resist it AND DO SOMETHING. Better yet, we must call God’s people to prayer. The time is NOW. If not now, when? If not us, who?

On July 18th we are calling every man and woman of God to fill the Bay Area with prayer in the spirit of 2 Chronicles 7:14. By faith, we have rented a boat with a capacity for 600 passengers to prayer-sail the Bay for four hours, joining hearts, hands and voices to cry out to God for mercy for our state. We are calling men and women, young and old, parents and children, to set aside half a day to do what God told us to do in order for Him to do in return what He promised. The cost is only $60 and includes lunch. You must register by calling 1-800-835-7979 or on-line at harvestevan.org/sfte. Please, RESPOND NOW. If you sense urgency in my message you are sensing right. It is URGENT!

For the sake of our state and for the sake of our children, join us!

Also, the days prior to the prayer cruise (beginning on July 14th) we are conducting transformation outreaches in San Francisco, Salinas and Vallejo. The last two cities have Christian Mayors who have invited Jesus into the government, and in San Francisco a group of devoted leaders is trusting God for a new, godly Mayor when elections come in 2011. Not everything is lost, but these embers of fire need to be fueled by prayer. Go to our website to find out more and consider joining us for at least part of the time.

I sincerely and prayerfully look forward to hearing from you today. Time is of the utmost essence. Please, for the sake of our state and for the sake of our children, join us in approaching God’s mercy seat. California is too beautiful to be forfeited to the devil by doing nothing when concerted prayer can change so much!

Anointed for Business

Hi Ed – “Anointed for Business”
I have cone through a lot of challenges lately due to personal growth and I have been asking the questions of what now, where to from here. I have been praying to the Lord asking for guidance as I came to a point in my career that I feel I have to make a change. You have helped me to understand so much and why I am experiencing what I am experiencing.
I am currently doing my MBA through Henley UK in my 3rd year and I made this statement in the beginning of the year, “two years ago I knew what I want and my goal was completing my MBA and set myself to become the CEO of the company I work for (large retail Company in South Africa), but now I am confuse. Just when I thought I knew what I want and where I was going reality struck and I did not know, start reassessing yourself”.
Over the last year I have changed a lot and re-devoted myself to the Lord and I have moved much closed to Him in my relationship with God. I also understand that I cannot be partially for the world and partially for God, I need to be 100 devoted to Him. God must be represented in everything I do, and I must become more and more spiritually (moving away from the world), becoming more and more like Jesus. One thing for sure is I want to help people, I want to be part of change and help them to understand God better and to grow through that becoming better human beings (through God). Still looking for the how. I have been 20 years in business and pray that the Lord open doors for me. I felt that I cannot stay working for my existing company and was searching, although some business opportunities came up, I was not 100% comfortable with that. A friend of mine referred me to your book “Anointed for Business” and said I must read it.
Wow, God just spoke to me from the beginning right to the end. Thank you for the phenomenal work that you do and may God bless you abundantly. I am staying on and have redevoted my work to the Lord and my studies. I know I must complete my MBA and God will lead me on this road. He has already gave me a vision of what I must do one day, and on completion of the book I read what Bishop Vaughn McLaughlin has done with the Potter’s House concept (very much the same vision I had), this really exited me. My ministry - to be in the market place and make a difference and to lead people to God.
Thank you again.
Kind regards

Hi Ed,
I just finish reading Transformation - awesome! I'm seriously considering going back to University to do my Phd in Philosophy. I have my Masters in Commerce - New Zealand. I'm would like to research further into the impact of 'transformation' across NZ, Pacific Nations etc. Is there an area you think I should consider researching? You assistance would be very much appreciated. The concept of marketplace ministry is a very new and emerging concept in NZ.

Many thanks

None should perish in the whole earth , and California is one of the key cities God love (California produces the best orange in the world, amen!). I believe that God love every one in California. I will pray for California in Hong Kong.
We are righteous men in the eyes of God , our prayers are greatly and powerfully effective by redemption of Christ and God's amazing love , He is wonderful God! May God's mercy fill California and USA.
Every one in California and in USA will surely bow down before King of kings , Lord of lords, Jesus Christ, Amen!

Translation of your book "Prayer Evangelism"
Reply #4 on : Wed July 08, 2009, 23:44:01
For long years I had forced to pray for our country too.

Your book on "Prayer Evangelism" was given to me by Rev Dr. cheseter Choi from South Korea who was my B.Th Professor in Sri Lanka.

I had been involved in Child Evangelism Fellowship of Sri Lanka for nearly 4 years and now I am out of it working full time.

I had been waiting upon The Lord for my Country for a long time and He had guided me to translate your book :Prayer Evangelism" in Two Languages namely Sinhala and Tamil.

And when I read your book and also when I read your request to join hands to pray for California, I really felt that The Good Lord wants you to do like that manner. I prayed if I also could be with you there in person.

The Good Lord had guided me to pray for Sri Lanka through you.

If you read this message personally, I request you to pray for Our Country too. And also pray and guide me about the translation and publishing work too if possible.

The Risen Lord! Christ Jesus should guided you with His presence always and His protection and providence too. Amen.
