Detonator City
Detonator City, def.: A city that explodes with transformation through the power and presence of God, thus igniting a much larger transformation explosion in the surrounding region!
In every major region were we have seen a transformation movement take root, it has always first began in a smaller, often over looked community that then influences the rest of the region and sparks the movement. In Hawaii it began in a Castle High School, in Minnesota it began in Elk River, in Mar del Plata it began in Batan. On the West Coast of California it is beginning in Salinas.
Things are heating up. Since they began praying two and a half years ago, the homicide rate has dropped to the lowest rate in 10 years.
Adopt-a-everyone
This group of Pastors and marketplace leaders invited the church of the city to embrace the city and love it the way Jesus does, thus Loving Salinas was born. They initiated adopt-a-school to cover each school with prayer and God's love, adopt-a-cop to so that every police officer in their city will hit their beat not only with body armor on, but with the whole armor of God and saints prayers covering them with prayers. Next on the agenda: adopt-a-fireman, adopt-an-orphan, adopt-a-singlemom, adopt-a-gangmember, adopt-a-homeless, until every one in the city experiences the love of the family of God.
My City God's City
This week they are implementing a "My City God's City" strategy Three nights of Radio Broadcast to mobilize lighthouses of prayer all across the city and throughout the marketplace. Monday Night we dedicated our homes, businesses, school lockers, etc. as embassies of the kingdom of God. We committed to practice Prayer Evangelism ala Luke 10. Bless, Fellowship, Minister and then Declare.
Radio and Television
Last night with about 20 people huddled around 4 mics in the radio studio, we put a garbage can in the middle of the circle and directed the listeners to do the same. Then we proceeded to cleanse our homes and our hearts of anything displeasing to the Lord. The conviction of the Holy Spirit fell in the studio and we believe all over the city as parents repented to children, husbands to wives, wives to husbands, people kicked out ungodliness they had been tolerating whether through TV, on the internet, in their computer, or wherever else it could be found. It was wonderful! One pastor called into the station to report that out of the blue a disgruntled church member inspired b the broadcast had called him to repent and be reconciled. Today, KSBW, the local NBC affiliate, called up, they wanted to find out more about this Loving Salinas Broadcast, today at noon they interviewed Dick and Pastor Manuel Dorado. The piece just aired on the 5 o’clock and will repeat at 6 o’clock. They even made the headlines.
