Blessed are those who mourn

DOWNLOAD THE MP3

When Sandra and I first moved up here to the Bay Area 12 years ago we didn’t have any family local and didn’t know anyone outside of the Harvest people. One of the first people we connected with was Nancy Harden, a spirit filled intercessor and matriarch in Oakland. Immediately the Lord kit our hearts together and she became like a spiritual mother to me. I called her my African American mother.

A few years ago when she suddenly lost her husband, I learn so much by observing the way she walked through the grieving process with so much godly wisdom. When friends wanted to comfort her prematurely, she told them, “No, I don’t need that now, let me mourn.”

When Jesus taught “blessed are those who mourn” he put mourning as a key step in the process of repentance, not only for those who have experienced the lose of a love one or the pain of a divorce, but for everyone who wishes to be cleaned of sin and enter into the kingdom of heaven.

I first shared this message at Randal Road Christian Fellowship in Bermuda, earlier this year after the congregation had gone through a very traumatic season when the pastor lost his wife to a prolonged battle against cancer. They were very blessed and moved by the message and so I am sharing it with you all also.

May this message minister to your spirit and open up Jesus’ teaching in the sermon on the mount to you in a fresh new light.

Greetings to you Brother Ted!

Your message to RRCF was received with great appreciation and spiritual reward for all of us. Thank you and Sister Sandra for your ministry. I pray that the Lord will grant you the desires of your hearts and greatly increase His grace and anointing upon you and the ministry. I have asked our Audio Team to make copies of your message available to every family in the church. I believe it is important that every family have a copy of it.

Thank you for your e-mail and the ‘podcast’ message which I shall view with interest and expectation. I will happily get back to you afterward.

Grace to you!

Dear Ted and Sandra,

Thank you for this report and for sharing the
wonderful sermon. Your insights on the Beatitudes
were so special to me, and the story of your spiritual
mother was precious.

It is interesting that when I lost my dear husband and
my wonderful mother within a short time of each other,
I did that very thing. I was driving back from Mpls and
while driving I began to wail. I wailed all the way home...
no tears...just my lonely wail. I had forgotten that but I
see where I might use your story to bring others to
the same release of frustration or sorrow or whatever
troubles them. I have heard it said that every hospital
should have a Screaming Room but I think a Wailing
Room would be better.
