National recognition given after Chapter 11
Mike Sime of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, has been working at turning his businesses over to God for a number of years, but the true transformation came when he put God in charge and gave Him the glory for the results.
While reading Anointed for Business, I was profoundly impacted by Chapter 11. Ed talks about declaring spiritual bankruptcy and having the Holy Trinity as business advisors through whom every major decision must pass. I took the five prayers at the end of that chapter, and along with additional scripture verses made them into a prayer for each day of the week.
Every week I have been praying for God to help me see my role as a minister in the marketplace and bless my employees. I have also prayed that God will give me insight and favor while He oversees every decision made in the businesses. From the time I began this daily ritual, there have been incredible blessings, which can only be explained by Gods intervention. Intercessors came in and prayer-walked every inch of our facilities, prayed for the companies and for the employees.
Within a few months, the companies were given local and national media attention when Donald Evans, the Secretary of Commerce, came to tour our plant. The Secretary ate with our employees and then had a press conference in our warehouse. Within days we had new customers and new employees as a direct result of this exposure.
The favor we have received with employees, customers, and vendors has given us the ability to grow at an even faster pace than our competitors. We have experienced double digit increases in sales and profits at both businesses during a period when our market and industry have been down or flat. In our most recent month, we had our largest volume month ever - up more than thirty percent from our previous best month.
When my wife, Pam, and I are out of town, we leave with confidence knowing that the Lord is running our businesses while we are away.
