Let’s make Newark the first U.S. city to have 100% of its streets adopted with daily prayer!
In April at the Jacksonville TransformOurWorld Conference we heard from Lloyd and Joanne Turner and the Rev. Bernard Wilks who, during one of the most inspiring sessions of the week, infused us with hope as they reported dramatic changes in Newark, NJ, once its streets began to be adopted and saturated with daily prayer.
In 2008 Newark led the nation in the reduction of murders. By the end of the year 33% of the streets were adopted, and the murder rate dropped by 33%. In a city that has been beset for too long by hopelessness and despair, this is one of the first indicators of a definite change in the spiritual climate.
This extraordinary drop in murders has caught the attention of national leaders, including the White House, opening a potential avenue to influence the highest levels of power in the nation. This is why I am writing to ask you to make possible THE ADOPTION OF EVERY STREET (100%) IN NEWARK BY JUNE 15!
If you want to see what you’ve never seen before—a city that is being transformed, one street at a time—please sign up to adopt a Newark street today at www.prayfornewark.org. Just fill out the one-page “Adopt-A-Street Online Form”, and you will receive a street for adoption by return email. Also, click here to see a more complete overview of the situation and its potential by Lloyd Turner.
Please, make a comment below to let me know that you have joined this prayer army to make Newark the first city whose streets have been adopted in prayer 100%. I look forward to hearing from you.
May the Lord richly bless you,
Ed Silvoso
On behalf of Lloyd and Joanne Turner and the Rev. Bernard Wilks for PrayForNewark
