Update and Urgent Prayer Need
So much has happened this year! I am working on a full year-end report that I plan to send you shortly, but in the meantime I wanted to give you a quick update, and share an urgent prayer need.
Update:
This year's Institute in Argentina was amazing! It was the best trip yet! We successfully raised a canopy of prayer from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, from Bermuda to Hawaii! Thousands of people tuned in to participate. During the conference the Lord broke through in a wonderful way to shift our understanding to see that the deepest wound over each nation is not corruption, nor poverty or violence. All of those are symptoms of the deepest wound over individuals, nations and people groups which is an orphaned spirit, being orphaned from one's father and lost without true identity. It is one thing to acknowledge this intellectually, and quite another to have the spirit of God open your eyes to see the wound of spiritual orphanhood and the toxic symptoms of it in your life. Then, the best part of all, the Father imparted the spirit of adoption to heal us individually, and as a new family, so we could go out as one body and father the orphaned cities and nations. In the 12 years that I have participated in these amazing trips to Argentina, I have never seen the delegates so deeply touched and changed. I encourage you to visit our website where we have posted all the sessions from the conference to view for free, as well as the wonderful testimonies people have been posting since the trip. I personally received an impartation of this spirit of adoption for the San Francisco Bay Area and have felt the difference since I have returned.
Good News from San Francisco:
The doors are WIDE open for transformation in the city of San Francisco. We had the pleasure of having with us this year in Argentina a former San Francisco city council member, Tony Hall, along with his wife and his campaign manager and his wife. They definitely got it! While currently retired, he is strongly considering running for mayor in the next election in 2011. As I said, I will share more in my year-end report, but to summarize: we have a team of pastors, ministry leaders and now marketplace leaders, who have come together and "gelled" as a team thus laying an apostolic foundation for transformation in San Francisco. Each of them is modeling transformation principles in their ministry and/ or marketplace sphere of influence, and now we are making plans for a couple of major thrusts in 2009 to minister to the city in what we see as the two most visible felt needs: a rejected and confused identity, and the homeless. In Argentina I gave a ten- minute report on San Francisco, I encourage you to watch it online.
Urgent Prayer Need:
As I am sure you have noticed, our economy is in a recession. As one would expect, this has affected our cash flow at Harvest significantly, necessitating severe austerity measures to weather the storm (our pay check will only be 60% this month). If are able and feel led to make a special donation it will be very timely and will be put to good use, but more importantly pray for us and and let us know how we can pray for you. This economic crisis is something we are all going through together -you may be in a situation far worse than ours. I just spoke with some very dear friends and supporters who are facing a foreclosure on their home and others who are facing major business loses because their business funding has disappeared. Will you reply to this email and share with us how we can pray for you, or even better, share good news so we can rejoice with you! We are praying regularly with our team of intercessors for all the friends and supporters of Harvest -that's you!
God Will Take Care of His Own:
Let me encourage you as I am encouraging myself. When God was ready to transform Israel using Elijah the prophet, the first thing He did was send a three-year drought that sent the country into a severe recession. This opened them up to reevaluate their hearts and turn back to the Lord. The situation is very similar today. God loves America and He is behind this recession. What you need to be assured of is that this is for the good and not the bad, just as with Elijah when he was fed first by ravens at a brook, and then by a widow (see 1 Kings 17). God will provide for the needs of His own during the trial. You can trust your loving Father, and not only will He provide the means for you to survive the trial, but He is strengthening you and positioning you so you can be a leader and a source of hope to others. God bless you, we appreciate you very much. We love to hear from you, please reply with an update and anyway we can pray for you.I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration with your loved ones. We look forward to hearing back from you,
Sincerely yours,
Ted and Sandra Hahs
